Welcome to Train2Gain SUP Fitness at The SUP School!

Experience a unique workout that blends the serenity of paddleboarding with dynamic fitness routines. Our 3-week course with 2 hours once a week. It is designed for paddlers who want to improve their skills, gain confidence, and progress alongside like-minded individuals.

This course is not just for racers – it’s for anyone who wants to learn new skills, refine technique, and build strength on the water.

Prerequisites: You must be able to stand up, paddle, and perform basic turns. All types of boards are welcome, though be warned – after this course, you might find yourself wanting a pointier board!

SAVIOUR AQUILINA TRAIN 2 GAIN INSTRUCTOR PADDLEBOARD RACING

Week 1 – Technique & Efficiency

Foundation First.

We focus on:

  • Paddle stroke mechanics

  • Body positioning and posture

  • Catch and exit efficiency

  • Board trim and glide control

  • Reducing wasted energy

You’ll leave understanding how to move faster without working harder.

Week 2 – Balance, Turning & Board Control

Control Creates Speed.

This session builds:

  • Advanced balance drills

  • Dynamic footwork

  • Step-back turns

  • Pivot turns

  • Turning under pressure

We’ll develop confidence moving around the board so you’re not just standing still — you’re in control.

Week 3 – Speed, Drafting & Race Simulation

Apply It Under Pressure.

We bring everything together with:

  • Acceleration drills

  • Start technique

  • Drafting and positioning

  • Short race simulations

  • Tactical awareness

The session finishes with a friendly race effort to test progress and celebrate improvement.

Train 2 Gain – River Course

  • Sessions start at The SUP Store

  • Runs wind, rain, or shine unless deemed unsafe

  • Be prepared to fall in!

  • Not for beginners – this is for paddlers looking to improve

  • No refunds

  • If we cancel a session, the next one will be extended

  • 2-hour sessions with a small break in-between - we start on time, no waiting for late arrivals

  • This course is for the river – we also run an ocean course in summer

  • Weekly session for 3 weeks at 6pm from the sup store
