Attending Your Session -
Important note about your session timing
Please be aware that your session will start at the time you have booked, and not when you get on the water. if you arrive late or need to get ready, this will be considered part of your booked time and your session will not be extended. to avoid losing any valuable time please arrive before your scheduled appointment.
Anyone returning from the session/hire late will be fined.
To enjoy your stand-up paddleboard/kayak rental fully, remember to bring a watch or phone enclosed in a waterproof case to keep track of time while on the water.
The hire form must be filled and signed by an adult over the age of 18, who agrees to take responsibility for the equipment and its use during hire. by signing this hire agreement:
you must leave a proof of id/phone/car keys with is as a deposit until you return with the hire equipment.
you accept liability for all loss or damage to boards and agree to pay for such as listed under ‘damage costing’.
we the sup school have the right to cancel/postpone any activities if we deem unsafe at any time.
If boards are returned late you will need to pay for the excess time hired and a fine. If boards are not returned before closing time this will be treated as theft. no refunds are offered if you return equipment early.
you understand that we do not take any responsibility for any injury to yourself or others during the hire period.
you understand that we do not take responsibility for any loss or damage to your personal belongings, the hire equipment, or belongings of others during the hire period.
you declare that you are physically fit and able to safely use hired equipment, and that you have no pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your abilities in the water.
everyone will receive a safety briefing, we will cover how to use your craft, how to be safe, where to go - if you do not adhere to the safety brief/safety guidelines or otherwise act unsafely you will be asked to return equipment immediately without refund, and you will be liable to pay for any loss/damage of equipment.
our private slipway is regularly cleaned but can be still be slippery.
you declare that you can swim at least 50 meters unaided in open water and accept the risk of using equipment on open water.
you cannot hire equipment under any circumstances if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or if you have taken medication that may affect your abilities in the water.
Children -
children must wear a buoyancy aid. children under 40kg must bring their own buoyancy aid. we will not let children on the water without an appropriate buoyancy aid.
age 16 - 17 : can use equipment alone. must have an adult with them but adult does not need to take part in the activity. child is not allowed out alone when windy or fast current.
age 12 - 15 : can use equipment alone but adult over 18 must partake in the activity. the adult must be next to the child at all times when on the water.
age 4 - 11 : can not use equipment alone and must be on a board/kayak with an adult over 18.
age 0 - 3 : are not allowed on equipment even with an adult.
ratio : 1 adult per 2 children
lessons : 1 person per board only. we do not allow children to be on the board with an adult taking part in a lesson.
adults using a board with a child must be over the age of 18 and a competent paddler. all people on the board are your responsibility.
Pregnancy - SUP/kayaking , you will need to access the water whilst carrying you craft, if you a cannot do this we have the right to cancel the booking, we advise kayaking as this is a calmer experience but the booking is to the individual choice, if we deem not fit we hold the right to cancel.
Weather -
you accept that if the areas conditions change - rain/high wind/ you must return back to the centre.
Drop In Fee -
our slipway is private therefore there is a drop in fee for anyone coming along with their own equipment.
Damage Costing -
sup – up to £800 sup paddle – up to £75 wetsuit – up to £75 kayak (single or double) - up to £800 kayak paddle – up to £100
REFUNDS & CANCELATIONS
you can re arrange or cancel your booking up to 48 hours before the appointment and receive a refund.
any bookings cancelled by the customer within 48 hours of the time slot booked will not receive a refund or to be rearranged.
if you are late for any booking your booking will finish at booking end time.
if the weather permits you not to go and we cancel your appointment you can get a refund, we only cancel activities if deemed not safe - example high winds/fast flowing river/contamination - we do not cancel if it is raining.
we will not issue refunds on any other terms.
LOSS & DAMAGE
me as the customer shall be responsible for any loss or damage to the sup board, kayak and / or related accessories for any reason whatsoever. in the event of equipment malfunction or failure becoming apparent during the period of hire.. i acknowledge that no repairs of any kind are to be made to the sup board, kayak or accessories without the prior consent . in no event shall the sup school be responsible for any expenditure, inconvenience or loss incurred by me.
BOOKING USING A VOUCHER -
Please email us to book in using a voucher. Your voucher code will not work at the checkout.
To make a reservation, kindly reach out to us via email at info@thesupstore.co.uk. we require the following information from you:
-Your voucher code (written on, not in photo or link form)
-Contact information for the booking (full name, contact number, email)
-Preferred date for the booking
-Desired time for the booking
- If your voucher allows a choice between paddleboarding or kayaking, please specify the activity you wish to book.
- Confirmation that all participants have read and agreed to our t&c's
- Confirmation that all participants can swim 50 meters unassisted
- Emergency contact number
Once we receive all the necessary details, we will proceed with your booking. you will receive a confirmation email once the booking is complete.
